About Big Bubbas
Big Bubba’s is all-out fun, with a charming Americana atmosphere and just the right touch of kitsch. The aroma alone will draw you in, but with the first bite, you know this is the real thing. You instantly taste the expertise borne of owner Anthony Mazzola’s extensive travels throughout the U.S. researching every known variety of Southern BBQ.
Bubba’s slow-cooked barbecue−juicy and aromatic with hardwood smoke−draws crowds from coast to coast. The exclusive BB preparation redefines succulent classics such as pork ribs, long tasty slices of beef brisket, smoky-sweet pulled pork, lamb, a half chicken, and various combinations. Or, try the moist and juicy chicken-and-rib combo: a big serving of barbecued chicken and thickly sliced pieces of “St. Louis” pork ribs. A mountain of mouth-watering magic!
Be generous with the barbecue sauces! Don’t be shy! Pour it on, eat it with a spoon…do what comes naturally at a backwoods honky-tonk like Big Bubba’s. But we challenge you to decide on just one favorite from this awesome sauce selection: a vinegary North Carolina sauce; a tomato Memphis sauce; a biting mustard-and-vinegar South Carolina-style sauce; and “Bubba’s Real Hot,” which is really, really hot.
Other Southern Classics… If, dare-we-say-it, you’re not in the mood for BBQ, then no problem! Just settle down to some crispy buttermilk fried chicken, jambalaya, delicate fried-oyster po’ boys… all accompanied by a bottomless glass of iced-tea. The plates of food are ample and delicious, and the flavors simple and clean. Side dishes are classic Southern staples: slow-cooked country greens, memorable coleslaw, our famous creamy cheese grits, mashed potatoes with gravy. And, for those seriously afflicted with a sudden urge to diet, there is a wonderful entree-sized cobb salad with more than enough delicious brisket, pulled pork, grilled chicken, hard-boiled egg, cheddar cheese, blue cheese, tomato, and chopped onions.
But don’t forget to make room for the “extras”! For starters, take a small bite out of Big Bubba’s with the bite-sized “Trash Ribs” – little 2″ pieces of ribs smothered in a rich barbecue sauce. Ordinary French-fries gain new dimension when served with chili, cheddar cheese, or brown gravy. The thick, huge onion rings are golden and crispy, and the kids are sure to keep quiet over an order of crunchy hush puppies.
Last but not least, desserts! The banana pudding is rich and full of sliced bananas, crumbled vanilla wafers and cream. The pecan pie is overflowing with nuts. The sweet potato pie is a vision of Thanksgiving, and it’s never too early for that.
